Supervisor Mechanical Maintenance
Job purpose
Supervise and perform installation, maintenance, repair, testing, predictive, preventive, and breakdown maintenance for rotating and static equipment to ensure equipment availability, reliability, and integrity.
Job specific accountabilities
Maintenance planning and execution
- Ensure availability of required resources for mechanical maintenance execution and schedule expectations to complete the job safely and on time.
- Plan, schedule, execute, and supervise rotating and static equipment preventive, predictive maintenance and troubleshooting to ensure reliability and availability.
- Inspect, follow up on task progress and final completion, and provide reports to ensure timely and quality job execution.
- Provide technical support, prepare scope of work, contracts, cost reporting, and participate in negotiation for equipment repair to meet required standards and cost effectiveness.
- Update refurbished equipment database and history for the equipment and their accessories to ensure effective equipment management.
- Participate and conduct daily and weekly safety toolbox talks to discuss safety and methods of completing job tasks.
- Supervise the testing and commissioning of new or modified equipment or systems, ensuring that repairs conform to correct methods and safety procedures.
- Participate in the planning, scheduling, and execution of shutdown and major overhaul maintenance activities.
Materials control
- Monitor availability of needed tools, equipment, and parts for scheduled jobs to ensure smooth operations.
- Prepare list of spares, tools, and materials required for maintenance jobs and issue the purchase/material requisitions. Inspect and confirm that the specifications align with the requirements of the received direct charge and stock materials.
- Arrange transportation of materials to site and coordinate with workshop supervisor on the use of heavy equipment and rigging services.
Minimum qualification
Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
Minimum experience, knowledge & skills
Five years of experience in supervising mechanical maintenance activities within a large industrial organization, preferably in the oil and gas industry.
