***ACCESS TO MEDICAL AND DENTAL CARE IN JAPAN IS EXTREMELY LIMITED. Please see Additional Information section below.*** You will serve as a SUPERVISORY GENERAL ENGINEER/ARCHITECT in the FACILITIES ENGINEERING AND ACQUISITION DIVISION, PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT of NAVAL FAC ENGINEERING CMD FAR EAST.

You will serve as a second-level supervisor providing strategic leadership to the Planning, Design and Construction Branch (PDCB) in a forward location under NAVFAC Far East, co-located within a Public Works Department.

You will supervise a diverse technical staff comprised of civilians, host nation staff, and in some instances, military Civil Engineer Corps Junior Officers.

You will oversee all aspects of PDC work, including the mentoring and training of the PDC staff; to include rollout, implementation, and monitoring of Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command (NAVFAC) policies and objectives.

You will be well-versed in the latest NAVFAC Concept of Operations to include the Standard Organization and Regulation Manual.

You will lead design staff in performing project management roles for the project (scope, cost, and schedule) from planning to project closeout and serve as the FEC local point of contact for the technical aspects of project PDC matters.

You will oversee the in-house and contracted development of plans and specifications, design-build Requests for Proposals, cost engineering and consultations services to support Category I and II work products under $20 million.

You will ensure that detailed engineering design plans and specifications, acceptance testing, commissioning, and respective cost estimates, provided are completed accurately via timely and proper design quality control/quality assurance.

You will provide construction engineering expertise and post-award design support on projects managed within the PDCB, particularly those of an unusual, critical, high visibility, or complex nature.

You will enforces EEO, labor and safety laws with the right to stop a project for major violations of safety.
