Supervisory Personnel Security Specialist
Summary
Supervises a team managing real-time security vetting for Department of State personnel, ensuring clearance eligibility and compliance with national security policies.
This position is located in the Office of Personnel Security & Suitability, Bureau of Diplomatic Security (DS/SI/PSS). PSS is responsible for determining the initial and continued suitability and security clearance eligibility of Foreign Service, Civil Service, and Wage Grade employees or applicants, Presidential Appointees, and contractors. Supervises and manages a team directly responsible for facilitating the Department of State's (DoS) Continuous Vetting (CV) program.
Directs the vetting process of real-time investigations to ensure the reliability, loyalty, fitness, and trustworthiness of previously cleared Department personnel.
Manages continuous evaluation alerts to determine required actions, including validation, baseline reviews, investigations, adjudications, and clearance updates.
Advises senior management on personnel security policies, regulations, and processes, identifying and recommending solutions to sensitive CV program issues.
Represents DoS in interagency working groups and committees to review, develop, and issue national security policies, including Presidential Executive Orders and National Security Directives applicable to all Federal agencies.
