Supervisory Security Specialist (Information)

About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located with Headquarters U.S. Africa Command Operations Directorate Joint Intelligence Center in Stuttgart, Germany.

Plans and performs Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) Security Management functions in all security disciplines.

Manages and monitors all security actions and procedures necessary for the accreditation of temporary and permanent Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities (SCIFs).

Provides guidance to SOCAFRICA and its subordinate component commands on Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) and Special Security Officer (SSO) policies, procedures, and regulations.

Monitors the security administration and management of SCI pertaining to the receipt, control, safeguarding, and accountability of SCI products and materials.

Performs basic supervision, such as ensuring that work schedules are met, staffing is adequate to accomplish assigned tasks, and adequate equipment and supplies are available for employees.
