What You'll Do
As a Surgery Scheduler, you will:
- Schedule surgeries and pre-operative appointments
- Coordinate surgery schedules with physicians, hospitals, and surgical facilities
- Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits
- Obtain insurance precertification's and authorizations
- Secure surgery authorizations for workers' compensation and industrial patients
- Communicate surgical instructions and information to patients
- Prepare and mail patient surgery packets and related materials
- Locate and pull patient charts for scheduled procedures
- Complete surgery scheduling forms required by hospitals and surgical centers
- Maintain accurate scheduling records and documentation
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients, families, providers, and staff
- Perform other duties as assigned
