Overview
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sushi Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and a deep appreciation for Japanese cuisine. As a Sushi Chef, you will be responsible for creating high-quality sushi dishes that delight our customers while ensuring adherence to food safety standards and kitchen protocols.
Duties
- Prepare and present a variety of sushi dishes, including nigiri, sashimi, and rolls, using fresh ingredients.
- Ensure that all food handling practices comply with health and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to plan menus that reflect seasonal ingredients and customer preferences.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including proper storage of ingredients and utensils.
- Utilize advanced knife skills for precise cutting and presentation of sushi components.
- Monitor inventory levels of sushi ingredients and communicate needs to the management team.
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff in sushi preparation techniques and food safety practices.
- Stay updated on culinary trends related to sushi and Japanese cuisine to enhance menu offerings.
