Job Description:

We are looking for a skilled SWAT Support Engineer with hands-on experience in RPG programming and the AS400 (IBM i) platform. The candidate will be responsible for application support, troubleshooting, incident resolution, and maintaining business-critical applications.

The ideal candidate should have experience working with RPG, RPG Free, or RPG LE, preferably in an AS400 environment, along with good analytical and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide application and production support for business-critical applications running on the AS400 platform.
• Troubleshoot application issues, identify root causes, and implement appropriate fixes.
• Analyze and debug programs developed using RPG, RPG Free, or RPG LE.
• Monitor application performance and ensure timely incident resolution.
• Work on incident management, problem management, and root cause analysis (RCA).
• Support application enhancements, bug fixes, testing, and deployment activities.
• Maintain technical documentation and follow established support procedures.
• Participate in production support activities and rotational shifts, if required.

Required Skills:

• 2-5 years of experience in application support, production support, or software development.
• Hands-on experience with RPG, RPG Free, RPG LE, or other RPG programming variants.
• Experience working on the AS400 / IBM i platform is strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of application debugging, troubleshooting, and incident resolution.
• Understanding of batch processing, job monitoring, and application support processes.
• Good analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with IBM i / AS400 application support.
• Knowledge of CL/CLLE, DB2 for i, and SQL.
• Familiarity with job scheduling, batch jobs, and production support processes.
• Understanding of ITIL-based incident and problem management.
• Experience working in a 247 production support environment.

Important Note

Candidates with hands-on RPG programming experience (RPG, RPG Free, or RPG LE) are preferred. AS400 / IBM i experience is highly desirable.

Note: GR Billing is no longer in use and is outside the scope of this requirement. Candidates should be evaluated based on their RPG programming and AS400 application support experience.
