System Engineer
Summary
Contract System Engineer supporting offshore wind projects: engineering and commissioning Beckhoff-based lighting and power management systems, running FAT/SAT and integration tests, ensuring QA and maintaining technical documentation. Remote B2B role at 50 EUR/h with one week per month of travel to Alesund.

Duration: initially 4-6 months with potential for extension or permanent position after the project
Working mode: remote with business travel (1 week per month in Alesund)
Summary: The System Engineer will play a crucial role in supporting offshore wind projects by ensuring the quality, testing, and documentation of integrated lighting and power management systems. This position aims to contribute to safe and efficient energy infrastructure operations.
Main Responsibilities:
System Design & Integration
Support the engineering and commissioning of Beckhoff-based lighting and control systems, and monitor power distribution platforms.Testing & Verification
Plan and execute Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), and integration test procedures while verifying functional safety and fail-safe logic.Quality Assurance
Maintain quality checkpoints during engineering and testing phases, and ensure traceability of design changes and testing outcomes.Technical Documentation
Produce system documentation, maintain version control, and collaborate with project teams to reflect accurate configurations.
Key Requirements:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Systems Engineering, or similar.
3+ years of relevant experience in offshore, marine, or industrial systems (experience in offshore wind or oil & gas preferred).
Familiarity with Beckhoff, DALI2, Modbus, Profinet, SCADA, UPS systems, and IEC/ISO offshore standards.
Experience in system testing and commissioning.
Solid understanding of QA processes and documentation standards.
Proficient in Confluence, Jira, and technical writing tools.
Fluent in English (written and spoken) with an advantage for Norwegian and Polish speakers.
