System Engineer (Windows and Azure)
Summary
A system engineer who deploys, administers, and maintains enterprise IT infrastructure across Windows, Linux, and hybrid environments. Day-to-day work covers Azure Stack Hub management, Windows Server administration (AD, GPO, RDS, clustering), SQL Server, Commvault backups, and system hardening and patching.
Role Summary
We are looking for a System Engineer to support the deployment, administration, and maintenance of enterprise IT infrastructure across Windows, Linux, and hybrid environments.
You will be involved in both new system deployments and BAU support, working closely with application and network teams to ensure systems are stable, secure, and running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
- Deploy, configure, and commission new IT systems and infrastructure.
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and upgrade existing infrastructure.
- Manage Azure Stack Hub, including virtualization, NSG, Load Balancer, Images, and Storage.
- Administer and harden Windows Server 2016/2019, including Active Directory, GPO, RDS, and Failover Clustering.
- Install and support Microsoft SQL Server 2016–2019.
- Support Linux/Ubuntu servers and appliances.
- Manage and monitor Commvault backup solutions.
- Handle basic networking and security configurations, including SSL certificates.
- Perform system hardening, patching, and preventive maintenance.
- Work with application and network teams on system integration, troubleshooting, and issue resolution.
- Ensure systems comply with IT security and operational standards.
Qualification & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or equivalent.
- 3–5 years of hands-on System Engineering / Infrastructure experience.
- Experience in Azure / Azure Stack Hub is required.
- Proficient in system hardening and patching .
- Proven experience with public sector / gov projects is a plus.
