About the role

Reporting to the IT Manager, you will take a hands-on role in maintaining secure, reliable ICT services while helping modernise the organisation’s infrastructure and systems.

With a digital transformation program commencing, you will contribute to the transition from on-premises infrastructure to cloud platforms and the replacement of ageing business applications over the coming years.

Working within a small team, you will be the senior technical resource across infrastructure, systems administration and cyber security, combining day-to-day operations with project delivery and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

  • Administer Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune, Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Windows Server and Active Directory.
  • Maintain network infrastructure, including firewalls, switches, wireless networks and VPNs.
  • Implement and improve cyber security controls, manage vulnerabilities and support Essential Eight maturity.
  • Manage patching, endpoint administration, system monitoring and access permissions.
  • Maintain backups and undertake recovery testing to support business continuity.
  • Contribute to cloud migration, infrastructure upgrades and technology improvement projects.
  • Provide Level 2 and Level 3 support, manage vendors and maintain technical documentation.

About you

You will bring experience as a Systems Administrator, Infrastructure Administrator or in a similar role, with broad technical capability and a strong focus on cyber security.

We are looking for:

  • Hands-on experience supporting Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune, Windows Server and network environments.
  • Practical experience implementing security controls, managing patching and addressing vulnerabilities.
  • Experience with backups, disaster recovery and maintaining reliable ICT services.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to balance operational demands with project priorities.
  • Clear communication skills and a patient, approachable manner.
  • Exposure to Azure, cloud migrations and the Essential Eight framework would be highly regarded.

Above all, you will be dependable, collaborative and willing to help. You will enjoy building relationships and explaining technical matters in a way people can understand.

The opportunity

This role offers variety, technical ownership and the opportunity to make a lasting contribution as the organisation modernises its technology environment.

You will join an organisation with an excellent culture, where people are caring, collaborative and supportive of one another. It’s an environment that values respect, positive relationships and working together to support the wider community.
