Systems Analyst 2 - HRIS/HCM business systems experience

Posted Updated
Discussion

Summary

A split business-analyst role supporting HR systems (Workday as the main platform) at Williams in Tulsa: monitoring and troubleshooting Workday integrations with vendors, managing the HR apps backlog and change requests in Azure DevOps, and automating manual processes using Power Platform, Power BI and AI tools.

This role is about half hands-on HR systems support and half process improvement. It suits someone who knows the HR technology space and enjoys building tools that make work simpler.
Key responsibilities
HR business systems analysis and support
Act as a business analyst for HR applications, with Workday as the main system, and connect HR/HRIS partners with technical teams.
Monitor, troubleshoot and resolve problems with Workday integrations to outside vendors (for example benefits and insurance carriers, contingent workforce management, travel and expense, and telecom vendors). This includes file-based and encrypted (PGP) transfers.
Coordinate key and certificate updates, file-format changes and testing with outside vendors.
Manage the HR Apps backlog in Azure DevOps: take in requests, gather requirements, write user stories, set priorities and track work to completion.
Prepare and submit change requests for weekly and major releases, following audit and change-management controls. Coordinate validation with HRIS.
Support vendor work: review statements of work and change requests, track deliverables, and help with PO and budget tracking.
Handle access and onboarding tasks for project resources, and act as the backup for HR application admin duties such as learning coordination.
Process automation and AI enablement
Find repetitive, manual or error-prone HR technology processes and propose automated solutions.
Design and build solutions with the Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Copilot Studio) and other approved tools.
Use AI tools such as Microsoft 365 Copilot and AI agents to streamline tasks like monitoring integration failures, triaging requests, writing documentation and reporting.
Build dashboards and reports, for example in Power BI, to show integration health, backlog status and change activity.
Write and maintain documentation (process maps, runbooks, SOPs) so solutions are supportable and can be handed off.
Follow Williams' security, data-privacy and governance standards, especially for sensitive employee data (PII).
Required qualifications
5+ years as a Business Systems Analyst, with at least 3 years supporting HR technology (HRIS/HCM).
Hands-on Workday experience, such as integrations, business processes, reporting or security.
Experience building apps or automated workflows with low-code platforms (Power Apps, Power Automate or similar).
Practical experience using AI or generative AI tools to improve business processes.
Working knowledge of system integrations, file transfers (SFTP/PGP) and data mapping.
Experience with Agile delivery tools, preferably Azure DevOps.
Familiarity with ITIL change management and audit or SOX-style controls.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues to HR stakeholders and outside vendors.
Preferred qualifications
Workday certification or experience with Workday Studio or EIB.
Experience with SAP Fieldglass, benefits carrier integrations or travel/expense integrations.
Experience with Copilot Studio, AI agents or prompt engineering.
Power BI or SQL skills.
Experience in energy, utilities or another regulated industry.
Success in the first 90 days
Takes over day-to-day monitoring of HR integrations and the weekly change-request process.
Owns intake and grooming of the HR Apps backlog.
Delivers at least one automation or AI solution that measurably reduces manual HR systems work.
