Systems Analyst

Key Responsibilities

1. System Analysis & Solution Design

• Analyse business and system requirements and translate them into practical technical solutions.

• Prepare high-level solution designs, system specifications, workflows and interface requirements.

• Assess technical impacts, dependencies, risks and implementation approaches for system changes.

• Provide system analysis and solution design support for in-house and PaaS-based systems.

2. In-house Application Development & Support

• Participate in the design, development, implementation, enhancement and maintenance of in-house applications.

• Develop and support applications using J2EE/Java-based architecture, React.js, JavaScript, Oracle and MySQL.

• Investigate production issues, perform root-cause analysis and implement corrective solutions.

• Support releases, deployments, production verification and ongoing service improvement.

3. PaaS-based System Support, Testing & Implementation

• Support configuration, testing, implementation and ongoing operation of PaaS-based systems.

• Prepare and execute system integration testing, technical test cases and defect resolution activities.

• Work with users and vendors to validate system functions, interfaces and expected results.

• Support user acceptance testing, rollout and post-implementation activities.

4. Technical Leadership & Vendor Coordination

• Lead assigned technical activities and provide guidance to programmers and junior technical staff.

• Supervise programmers and vendors in completing system development and project tasks according to agreed scope, quality and schedule.

• Coordinate with business users, infrastructure, cybersecurity, database and vendor teams.

• Work independently, monitor progress and escalate significant risks or delivery issues.

5. Documentation, BI & Continuous Improvement

• Prepare and maintain system specifications, technical designs, test records, deployment procedures and support documentation.

• Support Business Intelligence, reporting and data-related requirements where applicable.

• Follow SDLC, change management, release management, source control and cybersecurity requirements.

• Explore suitable uses of AI technologies, Generative AI and Large Language Models for application improvement.

Education & Certifications

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems or a related discipline.

Professional Certifications Preferred

• Java/J2EE, React.js or related application development certification

• Oracle, MySQL, SQL, Business Intelligence or data analytics certification

• Agile/Scrum, ITIL Foundation or ISO/IEC 27001 awareness certification

• Generative AI, Large Language Models, Microsoft Azure AI or related certification

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 5-8 years of relevant experience in system analysis, application development, implementation and production support.

• Practical experience in J2EE/Java architecture, React.js, JavaScript, Oracle and MySQL.

• Experience developing and supporting in-house business applications.

• Experience supporting testing, implementation and solution design for PaaS-based systems.

• Experience in system integration, defect investigation, release implementation and vendor coordination.

• Familiarity with Business Intelligence tools, AI technologies and Large Language Models.
