Systems Analyst with Java skills

We are looking for a Senior Systems Analyst with strong Java knowledge to support a long-term payments technology programme. The role focuses on analysing complex enterprise systems, understanding Java-based applications, documenting system behaviour, and supporting the modernisation of a business-critical payment platform.

This is not a software development role. It is a technical systems analysis position requiring the ability to understand Java source code, analyse integrations and business logic, and collaborate closely with development teams throughout the delivery lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Analyse system logic, technical documentation and business processes
• Read and understand Java source code to support system analysis
• Review analytical documentation and identify gaps, risks and technical implications
• Create and maintain system and technical documentation
• Support technical upgrade and modernisation of the existing system
• Work with legacy code and support gradual migration from TMS to RTMS
• Perform reverse engineering based on source code, documentation, UI behaviour and database access
• Define test cases for automated testing
• Support vulnerability scan analysis and remediation coordination
• Work closely with Java developers, testers, architects and business stakeholders
• Support integrations across REST, SOAP, RMI, database connections and database links



Requirements

• Strong experience as a Systems Analyst, Technical Analyst, IT Analyst or similar
• Ability to read and understand Java 8+ source code
• Practical understanding of Spring, Spring Boot, Hibernate/JPA and JEE based systems
• Experience analysing complex enterprise systems
• Experience preparing technical and system documentation
• Ability to understand and describe business processes and system logic
• Experience with REST API and system integration analysis
• Knowledge of relational databases, especially Oracle
• Understanding of distributed systems and integration patterns
• Experience with application servers such as JBoss or WildFly
• Ability to define test cases for automated testing
• Knowledge of tools such as Maven, Git, GitLab, Jenkins, Nexus and Jira
• English B2
• Full availability in the Polish time zone
• Ability to work 4 days per week from the Warsaw office

Nice to have

• Previous hands on Java development experience
• Experience in payments, acquiring, terminal management or financial services
• Experience with RabbitMQ or other message queue systems
• Experience with SOAP, RMI, database links or direct database integrations
• Experience with Hazelcast or distributed caching
• Experience with distributed transaction patterns
• Experience with reverse engineering legacy systems
• Experience with vulnerability scanning tools such as Fortify or Sonatype
• Experience with GWT or GWTExt
