Systems Engineer – Communications Architecture

We are seeking a Systems Engineer to contribute to our mission-critical projects. Your role will be pivotal in shaping the future of space communication, ensuring seamless integration across complex systems. Prepare to translate abstract mission concepts into tangible system requirements, driving architectural excellence and pushing the boundaries of what's possible in space exploration.
- Support end-to-end communication system architecture development, integrating space and terrestrial networks.
- Create architectural models for spacecraft, relay nodes, ground systems, and user terminals.
- Define system decomposition, allocating functions across elements for optimal performance.
- Develop architecture views, operational concepts, and technical roadmaps.
- Participate in system-level design, including communications payloads and mission operations.
- Analyze mission objectives to derive system requirements and maintain traceability.
- Perform communications system analysis, including link budget and network capacity planning.
- Conduct architectural trade studies, evaluating SWaP-C trade-offs against mission goals.
- Define and maintain ICDs for seamless integration across diverse systems.
- Create and maintain comprehensive system architecture documentation.
- Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Electrical, Telecommunications, Computer Science, or Systems Engineering.
- 3-5 years of engineering experience in aerospace, telecommunications, or related fields.
- Proficiency in system design, requirements development, and communications analysis.
- Solid understanding of communication theory, digital modulation, and RF fundamentals.
- Familiarity with networking principles, TCP/IP protocols, and mesh networking.
- Knowledge of wireless technologies, LTE, 5G NR, Wi-Fi, and satellite communications.
- Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) is an asset.
- Strong analytical skills and excellent communication abilities.
- Ability to collaborate effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
