As an Tax Manager, you will be responsible for reviewing, analyzing, and building strategies to help develop and maintain relationships with clients throughout the tax process.
BPM is seeking an experienced and client-focused Tax Manager to join our Private Client Services (PCS) team, working exclusively with Ultra High Net Worth (UHNW) individuals and families. This role involves managing complex tax planning and compliance for trusts, estates, partnerships, and closely held businesses, while delivering personalized service and strategic guidance. The ideal candidate will have deep technical expertise, strong interpersonal skills, and a proactive approach to client relationships. We are specifically looking for candidates based in the Bay Area, Sacramento, Santa Rosa etc. who are ready to make an impact in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Relocation Assistance: A flat rate is available for candidates relocating to the Bay Area (Sacramento or Santa Rosa, CA)
Note: Those within 45 minutes of a BPM office will be expected to follow a hybrid schedule.

Requirements:

  • 4 or more years’ experience in public accounting with an emphasis on Tax.
  • BS/BA degree in Accounting or related field (Masters degree a plus)
  • Licensed CPA OR EA certified
  • Capability to research complex tax issues and exposure to a variety of entities and industries.
  • Extensive experience in researching tax issues and exposure to a variety of entities and individual tax issues.
  • Strong analytical ability and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrates proactive thinking.
  • Experience developing and training associate level professionals.
  • Champion sustainable workplace practices by supporting remote-first operations, promoting paperless workflows through digital collaboration tools, participating in recycling initiatives to minimize paper use, and consistently demonstrate alignment with BPM’s values.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide tax compliance and consulting to a diverse base of high-net worth individuals, partnerships, and corporations.
  • Oversee complex tax research projects for a variety of clients and diverse industries.
  • Work with clients to minimize their federal, state, and local tax liability.
  • Supervise tax associates' assignments and manage the day-to-day delivery of tax consulting services to the client.
  • Develop and motivate tax seniors and associates by reviewing their work and providing them with counseling, leadership and career guidance.
  • Manage multiple engagements and deliver high quality products timely and efficiently.
