Team Lead - Software Engineering (Back End)

We are seeking an experienced Backend Engineering Team Lead to lead our engineering team in designing, developing and maintaining scalable backend systems and infrastructure.

The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience in Python and Go, solid knowledge of DevOps and cloud-native technologies, and practical experience with modern AI-powered coding tools and agentic development workflows.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor the backend engineering team, providing technical guidance and overseeing project delivery.

• Design, develop and maintain scalable backend services, APIs and distributed systems using Python and Go.

• Drive system architecture, technical decisions, code quality and engineering best practices.

• Manage and maintain infrastructure, deployment pipelines and production environments.

• Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).

• Leverage AI coding tools and agentic workflows to improve engineering productivity and development efficiency.

• Design and integrate MCP-based solutions connecting AI agents with internal services and external systems.

• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot technical issues and ensure system reliability and security.

• Collaborate with other teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  

Requirements

• 5+ years of software engineering experience, with substantial backend development experience.

• Strong programming skills in Python and Go.

• Solid understanding of backend architecture, APIs, microservices and distributed systems.

• Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes.

• Experience with Istio and service mesh architecture.

• Proficiency in Terraform, Ansible and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).

• Experience with Git, GitHub and GitHub Actions.

• Practical experience with MCP, including MCP server development and integration.

• Familiarity with frontier LLMs and AI-powered coding tools, particularly Anthropic Claude Code and OpenAI Codex.

• Experience in technical leadership, code reviews and mentoring engineers.

• Good problem-solving, communication and project management skills.
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Rust.

• Experience with graph databases, particularly NebulaGraph.

• Familiarity with ontology engineering, knowledge graphs and graph data modelling.

• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP or Azure.

• Experience building AI agents, LLM-powered applications or agentic systems.

• Familiarity with Helm and Kubernetes ecosystem tools.
