Technical Business Analyst - Data & Reporting

Your new role:
As a Technical Business Analyst within the Data and Reporting workstream, you’ll help shape how core systems data is migrated, transformed, validated and used for analytics and reporting. You’ll work across technology, operations and business teams to translate complex requirements into practical technical solutions.

This is a hands on BA role suited to someone who enjoys getting into the detail of data while still being able to understand the bigger picture.

Responsibilities:

• Gather, analyse and document detailed technical and data requirements
• Understand how customer, product and operational data flows between systems
• Define current and target state data requirements
• Develop data mappings and transformation rules for the new core banking platform
• Interrogate existing core data using SQL
• Develop robust data validation and reconciliation rules
• Support data migration, data shipping, analytics and reporting activities
• Identify data quality and consistency issues and help determine appropriate solutions
• Work closely with data engineers, data analysts, developers and business SMEs
• Facilitate conversations between business and technical stakeholders
• Document solution designs, requirements, processes and data flows
• Manage ambiguity and evolving requirements as understanding develops across the programme
• Support testing and ensure solutions are thoroughly documented, reviewed and validated

Requirements:

• 5+ years’ experience in technical or business analysis roles
• Strong Technical Business Analysis experience
• Excellent data analysis and interrogation skills
• Working knowledge of SQL, including the ability to run and adapt queries
• Experience with data and process modelling
• Strong requirements gathering and documentation capability
• Ability to understand complex data structures, mappings and system flows
• Strong stakeholder management skills across technical and business teams
• Excellent analytical, logical and problem solving capability
• Ability to work autonomously and manage competing priorities
• Data migration experience would be highly advantageous
• Banking, financial services or insurance experience would be advantageous
• Experience with Jira and Confluence would be beneficial
