Technical Business Analyst - SAP Finance

A leading university in Malaysia is replacing its student management system, and its finance function needs to be ready for the move. This contract role makes sure finance processes, controls and SAP S/4HANA configuration support the new platform from day one.

You will be the link between Finance, Student Services, technology teams and vendors. You'll work out how finance operates today, define what has to change, and see those changes through design, testing and go-live.
What you'll do

• Run workshops with finance and program stakeholders to map current processes, issues and risks
• Write business requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, business rules and process maps
• Support S/4HANA finance design across configuration, end of day processes, reconciliations, reporting, master data and GL postings
• Analyse data flows and integrations between the student management system, S/4HANA and connected applications
• Manage backlog, defects and delivery status in Jira, and keep decisions and requirements current in Confluence
• Support testing, defect triage, data migration, cutover and operational readiness
• Identify control, audit and data quality risks and work them through to resolution
• Prepare impact assessments, options papers and business case input for program governance

What you'll bring

• Hands-on SAP S/4HANA Finance (FI/CO) experience across AR, AP, billing, banking, complex GL postings and reconciliations
• A track record as a Technical Business Analyst in complex enterprise environments, ideally higher education or public sector
• Practical understanding of integrations, batch processes, APIs and reporting flows
• Solid knowledge of finance controls, reconciliations and compliance
• Confidence working with both finance leaders and technical teams, and coordinating analysts and external partners
• Financial modelling and business case experience is highly regarded
