We are looking for an experienced Technical Consultant – Infrastructure to join our Hamilton based team.
About the Role
This is a full-time permanent position working largely across our Enterprise customers.
This position provides technical leadership, architecture, consulting and solution design expertise across enterprise infrastructure platforms. The role helps customers define technology roadmaps, assess current environments, design infrastructure solutions, and deliver strategic outcomes aligned to business requirements.
You will be viewed as a trusted advisor and technical leader, providing strategic guidance, architecture, solution design, business case development, and implementation leadership for complex customer engagements.
What you'll do for us
Provide strategic infrastructure consulting and advisory services.
Analyse customer business and technical requirements and translate them into technology roadmaps and infrastructure strategies.
Design and architect enterprise infrastructure solutions.
Facilitate customer workshops, assessments and discovery engagements.
Develop solution architectures, statements of work, technical designs and supporting documentation.
Contribute to quotations, proposals and RFP responses.
Lead the implementation of complex infrastructure transformation and modernisation projects.
Provide technical leadership and quality assurance throughout project delivery.
Establish and maintain infrastructure architecture standards and principles.
Contribute to fault analysis, troubleshooting and resolution of complex escalated infrastructure issues.
Mentor engineers and project teams through design and implementation activities.
Maintain accurate customer, project and commercial documentation.
Ensure effective utilisation and accurate recording of project activities and customer engagements.
What you'll bring in your Kit bag
Two major certifications such as VCP, MCSE, VCAP, Dell, HPE, NetApp or equivalent qualifications.
One or more infrastructure vendor certifications.
At least 10 years ICT industry experience.
Proven experience in infrastructure architecture, consulting and technical leadership.
Demonstrated success delivering large-scale infrastructure projects and transformation programmes.
Strong customer engagement, workshop facilitation and consulting capability.
Experience developing architecture documentation, technical designs, proposals and statements of work.
Confidence presenting solutions to both technical and business stakeholders.
Proficiency across the following areas:
Enterprise Infrastructure Architecture
Windows Server Platforms
Active Directory, DNS and DHCP
Virtualisation Technologies (VMware, Hyper-V)
Storage Technologies (SAN, NAS, DAS)
Compute Platforms (Dell, HPE, Lenovo or equivalent)
Backup, Recovery and Business Continuity Solutions
Disaster Recovery Planning and Design
Application Delivery Technologies (RDS, Citrix)
Microsoft Exchange and SQL Infrastructure
Infrastructure Monitoring and Management Platforms
Infrastructure Lifecycle Management
Data Centre Infrastructure
Capacity Planning and Performance Optimisation
PowerShell Scripting and Infrastructure Automation
Infrastructure Assessments and Technology Refresh Programmes
Infrastructure Governance, Standards and Operational Excellence
Strong business and technical writing skills.
Expert use of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio and architecture design tools.
The ability to engage customers, facilitate workshops and communicate complex concepts clearly.
Proven ability to identify opportunities and help customers understand the value of modern infrastructure solutions.
However, soft skills, customer engagement and a willingness to learn are equally important.
