A hands-on intermediate consultant role at Murdoch Webster in Melbourne combining project delivery with managed services support: designing and implementing Cisco networking solutions, Palo Alto firewalls and endpoint security (Microsoft Defender, Cortex XDR, Rapid7), resolving escalated tickets and delivering projects end to end. Salary: $110,000 – $140,000 per year
About the role
This is a hands-on, intermediate level role combining project delivery and day-to-day managed services support. You'll design and implement network and security solutions, resolve escalations and work closely with customers to deliver practical outcomes. It suits someone who enjoys variety and is just as happy solving a tricky support issue as delivering a new project.
Key responsibilities
Design, deliver and support Cisco networking and infrastructure solutions.
Implement and support Palo Alto firewalls and endpoint security such as Microsoft Defender, Cortex XDR, Rapid 7.
Resolve managed services tickets and provide technical escalation.
Deliver project work from planning through implementation, documentation and handover.
Support technical discovery and solution design with customers and our sales team.
Help improve our managed services standards and processes.
About you
Solid hands-on networking and cybersecurity experience (around CCNP / PCNSE level, or approaching it).
Strong Cisco networking skills across routing, switching and security.
Experience with Palo Alto (or comparable next-generation firewalls).
Strong troubleshooting and clear customer communication.
Comfortable balancing project delivery with day-to-day support.
Current rights to work in Australia and willingness to complete a standard police check.
Nice to have
Exposure to Microsoft Defender, Cortex XDR or similar endpoint security.
Cloud (Azure / Microsoft 365) experience ideal.
Managed services or MSP background.
Relevant certifications (CCNA/CCNP, PCNSA/PCNSE) – valued, but not mandatory.
