We are looking for an experienced .NET Core Developer (Lead) with 56 years of hands-on experience in C#, .NET Framework, .NET Core, and microservices architecture. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in modernizing legacy ASP.NET applications by migrating existing services to modern .NET microservices and integrating them seamlessly into existing systems.

The role requires strong technical expertise, independent problem-solving capabilities, and the ability to make sound architectural decisions while ensuring high-quality, scalable, secure, and performant software solutions.

Job Summary

The candidate will be responsible for leading the modernization of legacy ASP.NET applications, migrating existing .NET services to modern .NET Core microservices, and ensuring seamless integration with existing applications. The role involves designing, developing, testing, debugging, and optimizing services while following established coding standards, security practices, and deployment processes.

The candidate should be comfortable working independently, managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, and guiding technical decisions throughout the migration lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Modernize legacy ASP.NET applications by migrating existing .NET Framework services to modern .NET Core microservices.
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable, secure, and high-performance microservices using C# and .NET.
• Follow best practices for .NET development, clean code, code optimization, and application performance.
• Define appropriate microservice boundaries and ensure seamless integration with existing applications.
• Validate existing ASP.NET API responses against corresponding microservice responses to ensure functional consistency and data accuracy.
• Perform performance optimization and troubleshoot issues during application migration.
• Develop and maintain unit tests and integration tests to ensure application reliability.
• Implement and maintain API documentation using Swagger/OpenAPI.
• Work with Entity Framework Core, LINQ, and data access layers to modernize database interactions.
• Implement secure authentication and authorization mechanisms using JWT, OAuth, and related security practices.
• Work with Oracle Database, T-SQL, stored procedures, views, and other SQL database objects.
• Support CI/CD processes and application deployments using AWS services, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Use GitHub for version control, branching strategies, pull requests, and code reviews.
• Leverage GitHub Copilot effectively to improve developer productivity and accelerate implementation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery of high-quality software solutions.

Technical Skills & Essential Requirements

• Experience: 5–6 years of hands-on experience in .NET development, including legacy application modernization and microservices migration.
• .NET & C#: Strong experience with .NET Framework 4.x, C#, and .NET Core/.NET.
• ASP.NET: Hands-on experience with session management, caching, user controls, and legacy ASP.NET application architecture.
• Microservices Architecture: Experience designing and implementing microservices using .NET 8 and familiarity with .NET 10, including service boundaries, API development, and integration patterns.
• Core Programming Concepts: Strong understanding of OOP principles, memory management, debugging, exception handling, logging, and performance optimization.
• API Development & Testing: Experience with REST APIs, Swagger/OpenAPI, JSON serialization, model binding, unit testing, and integration testing.
• Database Integration: Hands-on experience with Entity Framework Core, LINQ, and data access layer modernization.
• Database Technologies: Experience with Oracle Database, T-SQL, stored procedures, views, and other SQL objects.
• AWS & Deployment: Knowledge of AWS EC2, CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and Kubernetes-based deployments.
• Version Control: Hands-on experience with GitHub, branching strategies, pull requests, and code reviews.
• Authentication & Authorization: Experience with JWT, OAuth, and modern application security practices.
• AI-Assisted Development: Good understanding of GitHub Copilot and its effective use to accelerate development and improve productivity.
