Technical Support Engineer
Summary
Kuala Lumpur–based technical support/pre-sales engineer for Information2's data replication and disaster recovery software, serving Malaysian customers as their end-to-end technical contact. Day to day: demos, POCs, RFP responses, technical proposals, and on-site implementations, working with Linux/Windows, databases (Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL), VMware/cloud, and DR/backup tools (NBU, Veeam).
About the role
Provide technical support to customers in Malaysia, serving as the end-to-end technical contact point for I2 software on the customer side. Responsibilities include analyzing and organizing customer infrastructure to identify potential opportunities, delivering pre-sales and post-sales support.
Key responsibilities
- Provide technical support to customers in Malaysia, with focus on pre-sales responsibilities and some post-sales duties
- Analyze, organize, and identify potential opportunities in customer infrastructure
- Serve as the end-to-end technical contact point for I2 software on the customer side
- Explain I2 software-related solutions and deliver demonstrations
- Conduct proof of concept (POC) and write technical proposals
- Prepare and answer RFP documents
- Implement solutions at customer sites when necessary
- Cooperate with the sales team to achieve performance targets
- Travel for business within the APJ region
About you
- Bachelor's degree in computer science-related fields
- Based in Malaysia, with fluency in English and Mandarin
- Familiarity with basic principles of business continuity (disaster recovery, backup)
- Familiarity with mainstream disaster recovery and backup software (such as NBU, Veeam)
- Extensive pre-sales project experience with relevant work background
- Excellent communication and coordination skills, strong sense of responsibility, and outstanding service awareness
- Familiarity with basic principles of mainstream operating systems such as Linux and Windows, and strong hands-on experience on these platforms
- Familiarity with mainstream databases (Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, etc.)
- Understanding of cloud platforms (VMware, VCF, FusionCompute, HCS, etc.) and big data platforms (CDP, FusionInsight, HDFS, Hive), including basic concepts and core components
- Strong hands-on skills on Linux, Windows, mainstream databases and cloud platforms
