Technical Writer

micro1 is engaging Technical Writers to contribute to a customer’s pioneering AI benchmark project. In this role, you'll apply your expertise to help train next-generation AI systems. Your work will shape how models learn, reason, and perform through high-quality, real-world input. No prior experience in AI is required — your domain knowledge is what matters.


Scope of Work

  1. Design and author expert-level evaluation tasks using realistic technical data, such as CSVs, PDFs, spreadsheets, and technical documents, reflecting complex real-world scenarios.
  2. Create and curate source material, including product specifications, code samples, SME interview notes, and regulatory documentation.
  3. Define solution criteria and the expected output for technical problem-solving assignments, ensuring clarity and rigor.
  4. Develop comprehensive, multi-point grading rubrics (35+ items) assessing agent outputs on accuracy, precision, testability, and audience alignment.
  5. Draft diverse documentation tasks (e.g., API references, user guides, compliance documents) representative of authentic industry challenges.
  6. Collaborate asynchronously with project leads to refine deliverables and ensure alignment with benchmark objectives.


Preferred Qualifications

  1. At least 2+ to 4+ years’ experience with a portfolio in software, hardware, medical devices, or regulated industries.
  2. Demonstrated expertise in producing precise, testable technical documentation and instructions.
  3. Advanced skill in structured authoring, adherence to style guides, and proficiency with documentation toolchains.
  4. Exceptional written English skills, with control of tone and technical register for varied audiences.
  5. Strong analytical and synthesis abilities to transform complex source material into clear guidance.
  6. Experience defining acceptance criteria and rubrics for technical assignments.
  7. Familiarity with benchmarking or evaluation methodologies within technical domains, is a nice to have.



Compensation Structure

Compensation is output-based; experts are paid per task that meets the project specifications. The time required to complete work may vary depending on the expert’s experience and workflow. Minimum submission requirements apply. Experts must submit a minimum of tasks per week.
