Telecommunications Provisioning Technician

The Telecommunications Provisioning Technician is responsible for configuring, activating, and supporting telecommunications services such as VoIP, hosted PBX, SIP services, and number porting. This position ensures accurate provisioning, documentation, and technical support while collaborating closely with engineering, field operations, and customer service teams. This is a 100% onsite role with rotating on-call responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Configure and provision VoIP, hosted PBX, SIP trunks, and related telecom services.

• Validate service orders and confirm technical requirements.

• Activate, test, and verify customer services for proper routing and performance.

• Perform number porting tasks including CSR validation, LNP submission, and customer coordination.

• Troubleshoot provisioning errors, activation failures, or VoIP configuration issues.

• Assist field technicians during onsite service deployments.

• Verify device configuration including phones, routers, switches, and ATAs.

• Maintain accurate records of service setups, configurations, and provisioning activities.

• Communicate with customers regarding activation windows and provisioning requirements.

• Coordinate with vendors, carriers, and internal teams for service delivery.

• Update CRM and ticketing systems with detailed technical notes.

• Follow internal standards, regulatory guidelines, and quality procedures.

• Participate in rotating on-call schedule for after-hours support and urgent service needs.

• Perform other duties as needed by Hilliary Communications.
