Position Summary
Our
client is seeking a highly competent and experienced TeleRadiologist to join their medical team. The successful candidate will be
responsible for performing, interpreting, and reporting diagnostic
imaging studies, including X-rays, CT scans, MRI, ultrasound,
mammography, fluoroscopy, and other imaging modalities. The role
requires providing accurate, timely, and clinically appropriate
diagnostic reports remotely while collaborating with referring
clinicians to support quality patient care.
The
ideal candidate should possess excellent diagnostic skills, be
proficient in teleradiology platforms and hospital information systems,
and demonstrate a commitment to clinical excellence, continuous
learning, and multidisciplinary collaboration.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide
clinically appropriate assessment, interpretation, and reporting of
diagnostic imaging studies in accordance with established clinical
guidelines and best practices.
- Interpret and report a wide range of imaging modalities, including:
- Digital X-rays
- Computed Tomography (CT)
- Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)
- Ultrasound
- Mammography
- Fluoroscopy
- Other specialized imaging examinations as assigned.
- Ensure
timely reporting of radiographs, mammograms, CT scans, MRI studies, and
ultrasound examinations to facilitate efficient patient management and
workflow.
- Perform fluoroscopy and specialized ultrasound examinations where applicable.
- Interpret and report emergency imaging examinations within the required turnaround time.
- Provide consultation services to referring clinicians during working hours and scheduled on-call periods.
- Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams in patient diagnosis and treatment planning.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team (MDT) discussions and clinical case reviews.
- Attend and actively participate in departmental meetings, clinical meetings, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Participate in Continuous Medical Education (CME) activities and other capacity-building programs.
- Work
collaboratively with the Head of Department and other team members to
develop work schedules and manage reporting workloads effectively.
- Maintain accurate, comprehensive, and high-quality radiology reports within agreed service-level turnaround times.
- Ensure compliance with ethical, legal, and professional standards governing radiology practice.
- Maintain strict patient confidentiality and adhere to data protection policies.
- Utilize PACS, RIS, EMR, and other hospital information systems effectively.
- Conduct scientific research and contribute to publications where applicable.
- Participate in peer review and quality assurance programs to enhance diagnostic accuracy and service delivery.
- Perform any other duties assigned by management within the scope of the role.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor
of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) or an equivalent
qualification recognized by the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists
Council (KMPDC).
- Master of Medicine (MMed) in Radiology and Imaging or an equivalent postgraduate qualification recognized by KMPDC.
- Registered with the KMPDC.
- Recognition as a Specialist by the KMPDC.
- Valid KMPDC Practising Licence.
- Professional Medical Indemnity Insurance Cover.
- Proficiency in computer applications and Hospital Information Systems.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) will be an added advantage.
Experience
- Minimum of 5 years' post-specialization experience as a practicing Radiologist in a busy hospital or diagnostic imaging centre.
- Demonstrated experience interpreting CT, MRI, Ultrasound, Mammography, and Digital X-ray examinations.
- Previous experience in teleradiology or virtual reporting will be an added advantage.
- Experience
using Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS), Radiology
Information Systems (RIS), and Electronic Medical Records (EMR).
