Terminal Operator
Summary
Operates heavy equipment like loaders and backhoes to load/unload trucks and rail cars, performs routine checks, and maintains a safe terminal environment.
Responsibilities:
- Operate heavy equipment such as loaders, backhoes, skid steers,
- Loading and unloading of inbound and outbound trucks and rail cars
- Perform routine equipment checks and report any mechanical or safety concerns promptly
- Follow all safety procedures, PPE requirements, and operational guidelines to maintain a safe work area
- Assist in maintaining a clean, organized, and hazard-free terminal environment
- Maintaining and operating facilities and equipment; general maintenance
- Participate in safety meetings, training sessions, and ongoing continuous improvement initiatives
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required
- Previous equipment operating experience (e.g., loader, backhoe, skid steer, etc.) is preferred
- Working knowledge of material handling systems, including pneumatic, electrical, and mechanical components; a plus
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work directly with the Terminal Manager and effectively collaborate with the team
- Demonstrated commitment to safety, including following established procedures, promoting safe work practices, and actively helping maintain a safe working environment
