About the role
As a Junior Test Engineer (Manual / UAT) on a hybrid arrangement in Kuala Lumpur, you will help ensure banking applications perform accurately and reliably, validating payments, fund transfers and customer transactions across web and mobile platforms. This is an immediate-start replacement role for candidates who can join within 2 weeks.
Key responsibilities
Review business requirements and functional specifications to understand expected banking processes and system behaviour
Prepare and execute functional, UAT, regression and end-to-end test cases
Validate banking transactions such as payments, fund transfers, bill payments and customer transactions
Log defects with clear steps to reproduce, expected and actual results, screenshots and severity, then track them through to resolution and retesting
Test across web browsers, Android and iOS applications, and verify data accuracy between front-end and backend systems
Participate in defect triage meetings, daily stand-ups and testing status discussions
Maintain test evidence, execution results and testing documentation, working closely with business and technology teams to meet project schedules and quality standards
About you
1 to 3 years of software testing experience, preferably in banking, FinTech, payments or financial services
Hands-on experience in Manual Testing and User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
Exposure to banking functions such as payments, DuitNow, GIRO, cards, loans, fraud management or digital banking
Experience preparing test scenarios, test cases, test scripts and test data
Proficiency logging and tracking defects using Jira, HP ALM or similar tools, with a solid grasp of the defect lifecycle, severity, priority and regression testing
Good understanding of SDLC, STLC and release testing activities
Strong communication skills for working with business users, developers, vendors and testing teams
