Trading Analyst (LNG)
Summary
Analyzes and reconciles LPG trading transactions, monitors trading performance, and assists traders with trade execution and reporting in a Singapore-based energy trading firm.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Maintain and reconcile physical and paper LNG trading transactions and trading records, and coordinate trade confirmations and reconciliations with the Risk Management Team.
- Monitor the performance of the LNG trading portfolio, including regular P&L analysis, position monitoring and business flow tracking.
- Support traders in executing and recording physical and paper LNG transactions, ensuring that trades are accurately and timely captured in the relevant trading systems.
- Monitor LNG market developments, including supply and demand fundamentals, market prices, shipping and freight costs, arbitrage opportunities and other relevant market information, and provide analysis and insights to traders.
- Assist traders in analysing trading opportunities, including cargo optimisation, arbitrage opportunities, shipping economics and portfolio optimisation.
- Prepare trading reports, market analysis and other related reports on a regular basis, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Perform any other duties or ad-hoc tasks as assigned by management.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Business Management, Economics, Finance or a related discipline, or an equivalent qualification.
- At least 3 years of relevant experience.
- Good analytical skills, with the ability to collect, collate and evaluate large amounts of data.
- Good ethics and professional conduct, and with strong sense of responsibility and teamwork spirit.
- Good organisational, time management and prioritisation skills, with the ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent command of English and Chinese languages (as the position needs to frequently communicate with English/Chinese speaking stakeholders verbally/ in writing as well as to prepare and proof-read English/Chinese official documents and presentations whenever appropriate).
