Summary

Oversee and manage traffic flow in work zones using signals, devices, and radios to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITY:


• Set up, maintain, and remove traffic control devices such as cones, signs, and barricades.
• Direct traffic flow using hand signals, whistles, and radios.
• Coordinate with other traffic controllers, emergency responders, and construction workers.
• Implement traffic control plans according to relevant standards and regulations.
• Enforce traffic laws and regulations within the work zone.
• Identify and address potential hazards.
• Respond to emergencies and accidents in a timely and professional manner.
• Communicate effectively with workers, pedestrians, and drivers.
• Use two-way radios to coordinate with team members and supervisors.
• Provide clear and concise instructions to ensure safety.
• Complete required paperwork and reports accurately and timely.
• Maintain records of traffic incidents and near-misses.
