Trainee Associate : Corporate and IP laws
- Draft, review, and negotiate
commercial agreements including lease/rental agreements, employment contracts,
leave and license agreements, service agreements, revenue-sharing arrangements,
NDAs, LOIs, and licensing documents.
- Conduct research on corporate,
commercial, employment, and compliance topics and prepare clear, actionable
research notes.
- Support trademark matters including
searches, TM-A/TM-M filings, replies to examination reports, opposition
support, and prosecution tracking.
- Assist in due diligence exercises —
reviewing documents, extracting key terms, building comparison sheets, and
preparing data summaries, particularly for mall and high-street retail
agreements.
- Support POSH compliance work
comprehensively: policy drafting and review, Internal Committee documentation,
compliance checklists, training materials, and advisory support.
- Assist with GCC and entity setup
matters including compliance notes, regulatory summaries, and documentation
relating to labour laws and data protection.
- Contribute to template development,
process notes, and institutional knowledge within the practice.
- Support thought leadership
initiatives including legal content for LinkedIn, client notes, and awareness
content on employment law and POSH compliance.
- Use Zoho tools for task management,
internal communication, and workflow tracking.
Requirements
- LL.B. from a recognized institution;
LL.M. or relevant certification is a plus.
- 0–3 years of experience in a
corporate/commercial practice or law firm environment.
- Strong drafting, research, and
analytical skills.
- Familiarity with employment law,
POSH compliance, and trademark prosecution is an advantage.
- Organised, self-driven, and able to
manage multiple deliverables under supervision.
- Proficient in MS Word; working
knowledge of Zoho tools preferred.
