Position Summary

The Training Manager is responsible for leading, administering, and continuously improving the company’s training and workforce development programs across two manufacturing sites. This role ensures employees at all levels are equipped with the technical expertise and leadership capabilities required to support operational excellence.

The Training Manager will oversee site-level training teams, supervise Training Supervisors and part-time trainers, and travel monthly to both facilities to ensure consistency, effectiveness, and alignment with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Multi-Site Training Leadership

  • Lead and manage the training program at both manufacturing sites, including monthly on-site visits.
  • Ensure consistency in training standards, materials, delivery methods, and certification processes across locations.
  • Partner with Plant Managers and site leadership to identify skill gaps and workforce development needs.
  • Align training initiatives with operational goals, productivity targets, and performance metrics.

Program Administration & Development

  • Responsible for full administration of the company’s training programs.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain both:
    • Technical training programs (manufacturing processes, equipment operation, quality systems)
    • Soft skills and leadership development programs (supervisory training, communication, performance management, team leadership)
  • Create, update, and standardize training materials, manuals, SOP-based modules, and instructional resources.
  • Oversee onboarding programs and structured skills certification pathways.
  • Ensure accurate documentation and maintenance of all training records and program requirements.

Team Leadership & Supervision

  • Supervise Training Supervisors at each site.
  • Provide oversight and direction to part-time trainers and facilitators.
  • Coach and develop training staff to ensure high-quality delivery and consistent messaging.
  • Establish performance expectations and conduct evaluations for training team members.

Operations Support

  • Support new equipment launches, process changes, and continuous improvement initiatives with structured training plans.
  • Partner with Quality and Operations teams to ensure training standards are maintained.

Reporting & Metrics

  • Prepare and deliver weekly and monthly training reports to leadership.
  • Track and analyze key metrics including:
    • Training completion rates
    • Certification status
    • Skills progression
    • Program effectiveness indicators
  • Use data to identify improvement opportunities and adjust training strategies accordingly.

Qualifications

Preferred Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Engineering, Business, or related field.
  • 5–8+ years of experience leading training and development programs in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience overseeing multi-site training operations preferred.
  • Prior supervisory experience required.
  • Hands-on experience with textile manufacturing processes, including warping, slashing, weaving, or finishing operations.
  • Experience supporting production teams during new equipment launches or process improvements, including developing and delivering structured operator training for new machinery, processes, or product introductions.
