The Treasury Management & Merchant Services Intern is responsible for working in a rotational experience supporting both Treasury Management and Merchant Services. You will contribute to meaningful projects, support client-facing initiatives, analyze business challenges, and participate in the implementation of payment and treasury solutions for businesses across Nicolet's footprint. You will gain exposure to sales, relationship management, payments technology, commercial banking, and operational processes while developing valuable business, analytical, and communication skills.
As a Treasury Management & Merchant Services Intern, you will:
Treasury Management
  • Assist Treasury Management Analysts and Consultants with client research, relationship reviews, proposals, presentations, and onboarding activities.
  • Support Treasury Management account opening, documentation collection, agreement preparation, and electronic signature workflows.
  • Assist with Treasury Management reviews, maintenance requests, implementation activities, reporting, and service follow-up.
  • Prepare spreadsheets, reports, and tracking tools for pipeline management and team initiatives.
  • Research Treasury Management products, market trends, and competitive offerings.
Merchant Services
  • Assist with merchant onboarding, applications, implementation coordination, and service requests.
  • Support preparation of merchant pricing materials, proposals, sales presentations, and related documentation.
  • Assist with merchant portfolio reporting, retention activities, and relationship support initiatives.
  • Coordinate with vendors and internal partners to support implementation and training activities.
  • Research payment acceptance solutions, industry trends, and merchant services products.
Projects & General
  • Participate in Treasury Management and Merchant Services projects, strategic initiatives, and process improvement efforts.
  • Gather data, perform analysis, and prepare reports, dashboards, spreadsheets, and presentations to support business initiatives.
  • Complete assigned internship projects and present findings and recommendations to leadership.
  • Support Treasury Management and Merchant Services teams with administrative, analytical, operational, and client service activities.
  • Learn the technical skills necessary to develop a foundational understanding of Treasury Management, Merchant Services, commercial banking, and payments solutions.
  • Engage in teamwork and contribute positively to the culture of the organization.
General

Qualifications:
  • Active student working towards a degree in business, sales, finance, or economics.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and handle sensitive client and Bank information with professionalism.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills with the ability to evaluate information and support decision-making.
  • Ability to work with data, perform basic financial and quantitative analysis, and identify trends, opportunities, and solutions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, and Teams.
  • Interest in banking, commercial payments, Treasury Management, Merchant Services, working capital solutions, and emerging payment technologies.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with clients, vendors, bankers, and internal partners.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and follow through on assignments.
  • Self-motivated learner with curiosity and a desire to gain exposure to sales, relationship management, payments technology, and commercial banking.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing positively within a collaborative team environment.
