Summary

In ALTEN we are hiring a Zonal Routing Engineer to design and optimize the electrical architecture of next-gen vehicles, focusing on zonal routing, harness placement, and ECU integration. You will ensure that electrical systems are space-efficient, interference-free, and aligned with vehicle-level requirements. This role requires a detail-oriented approach and strong collaboration with autonomy, thermal, and body systems teams.

🔧 Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop zonal routing strategies for electrical harnesses, ECUs, and power distribution modules.
  • Perform package studies to avoid interference with chassis, battery, and thermal systems.
  • Create detailed schematics and 3D models of electrical routes using CATIA Electrical.
  • Collaborate with autonomy, thermal, and body teams to align electrical designs with vehicle architecture.
  • Document interfaces, assumptions, and risks for electrical system integration.
  • Support prototyping and validation of electrical routing solutions.

Requirements

✅ Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • 3–7 years of experience in electrical routing, harness design, or zonal architecture (automotive/EV preferred).
  • Expertise in CATIA Electrical/3DEXPERIENCE (mandatory for 3D routing and harness design).
  • Experience with harness design tools (Capital Harness, VeSys) and EMC/EMI compliance.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage complex electrical interfaces.
  • Fluent English (technical communication with global teams).
  • Willingness to relocate to the USA (visa support available).
  • Management skills: Ability to coordinate with multiple teams, manage small projects, and mentor junior engineers.

🌟 Nice-to-Have:

  • Experience with high-voltage systems (48V/800V) in EVs.
  • Knowledge of autonomous vehicle electrical architectures.
  • Familiarity with DFMEA (Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis).
