Summary

A hybrid Unity Developer / Technical Artist role building and polishing 2D games: integrating sprites, animations, VFX and audio, writing C# components for visual states, assembling scenes with Tilemaps, and optimizing rendering and performance. Core stack: Unity, C#, Git.

We’re looking for a Unity Developer / Technical Artist to work on the visual and technical aspects of 2D games. You should be confident with C# and Unity’s tools, comfortable integrating visual assets, and able to deliver polished results in-game.

Responsibilities
Integrate and configure 2D assets, animations, VFX, and audio in Unity.
Develop C# components to control visual states and synchronize them with gameplay logic.
Set up Animation Clips, Animator Controllers, transitions, and Animation Events.
Create and maintain Prefabs and Prefab Variants.
Assemble 2D scenes using Tilemaps, Sprite Renderers, Sorting Layers, and Sorting Groups.
Configure texture and sprite import settings, materials, and rendering parameters.
Optimize graphical assets and visual effects.
Work within an existing codebase and collaborate with developers and artists.

Requirements
Hands-on experience developing 2D games in Unity.
Strong knowledge of C#, component-based architecture, and the Unity lifecycle.
Experience integrating visual content into existing gameplay systems.
Proficiency with sprite sheets, frame-by-frame animation, and Animator.
Understanding of 2D rendering, including sorting, transparency, materials, and camera setup.
Experience configuring Pixels Per Unit, texture filtering and compression, and Sprite Atlases.
Ability to identify performance issues using the Unity Profiler and Frame Debugger.
Experience with Git.
Ability to work independently, with strong attention to visual quality.

Nice to Have
Experience creating and editing 2D VFX, including sprite-based effects, flipbook animations, and particle systems.
Familiarity with Unity Particle System, Shader Graph, and the URP 2D Renderer.
A careful approach to pixel art: maintaining consistent pixel density and palettes, configuring Pixel Perfect Camera, and resolving blurring and visual artifacts.
Proficiency with Aseprite, Photoshop, or similar tools for preparing and editing assets.
Experience optimizing 2D graphics and effects for mobile devices.
Experience developing Editor tools to automate asset import and configuration.

How to Apply
Please send your CV and portfolio. We’re particularly interested in videos showcasing your work on 2D VFX.
