About the role
We are looking for a Unity Game Developer to build gameplay and platform features for our casual games. You will turn game designs into working features in Unity and C#, build for Android, iOS and WebGL, connect third-party SDKs, and keep our games running smoothly after release.
Responsibilities
· Develop gameplay features in Unity and C# from design documents, and work with designers to adjust them during testing.
· Build game UI with Unity UI frameworks such as UGUI or FairyGUI.
· Develop shared platform features and tools so new games can be added through configuration instead of being rebuilt each time.
· Integrate and maintain third-party SDKs, including advertising, analytics, payment and login SDKs.
· Prepare Android, iOS and WebGL builds and support each release.
· Find and fix performance problems such as frame drops, slow loading and high memory use, on both low-end and high-end devices.
· Support hot updates of game resources and code.
· Build Unity editor extensions and tools to speed up development, versioning and patch releases.
· Investigate and fix bugs reported by QA and players, and follow each fix through to release.
· Write technical notes and keep code and project structure clear for other developers.
Requirements
· Bachelor’s degree in Digital Media Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related discipline.
· 3+ years’ experience developing applications or games in Unity.
· Strong C# programming skills and a good understanding of data structures and algorithms.
· Experience building and releasing Unity projects for Android and iOS; WebGL experience is an advantage.
· Experience with Unity performance profiling and optimisation of code, assets and memory.
· Experience integrating third-party SDKs into Unity projects.
· Able to work closely with designers, artists and QA, and explain technical options to non-technical colleagues.
· Good command of spoken and written Mandarin; Cantonese is an advantage; able to read English technical documentation.
Preferred
· Experience in the gaming industry is a strong advantage.
· Experience with games for the company’s target audience markets is a strong advantage.
· Experience with casual, arcade or physics-based mini games.
· Experience with hot-update solutions and resource management in Unity.
· Experience writing Unity editor tools.
· Experience with real-time networking (e.g. WebSocket) or 3D scenes and camera control.
