Veterinary Dentistry Technician Assistant
Specialty Technician Assistant – Dentistry
Love dentistry? Love patient care? Come help us create healthier smiles—one pet at a time.
At Animal Emergency & Referral Center of Minnesota (AERC), our Dentistry team does far more than clean teeth. We treat oral pain, repair fractured teeth, diagnose oral disease, and perform advanced dental and maxillofacial procedures that dramatically improve our patients' quality of life.
We're looking for a Specialty Technician Assistant to join our Dentistry Service and help support our doctors, technicians, patients, and clients every day.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on patient care, thrives in a collaborative environment, and wants to grow their skills in specialty veterinary medicine.
What You'll Do
As a Specialty Technician Assistant, you'll work alongside our board-certified dentists, veterinary technicians, and assistants to help every patient receive exceptional care.
Responsibilities include:
- Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians with patient restraint, treatments, diagnostics, and procedures
- Prepare patients and treatment areas for dental procedures
- Monitor patient comfort and communicate concerns to the medical team
- Communicate with clients by phone, email, text, and in person
- Assist with patient admissions, discharges, and follow-up care
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation
- Prepare prescriptions and support pharmacy workflows within hospital policy
- Stock supplies, monitor inventory, and assist with equipment cleaning and routine maintenance
- Keep treatment areas clean, organized, and ready for the next patient
No two days are exactly alike—and that's one of the best parts.
While you'll primarily support our Dentistry Service, AERC is a collaborative hospital.
Our team members are expected to:
- Assist other hospital departments when operational needs require
- Participate in after-hours support through an on-call rotation or by assisting our Emergency & Critical Care team on weekends, holidays, or other high-volume periods
- Pitch in wherever needed to help provide outstanding patient care
