Vice President, Commercial Business Development (US)
Role Overview
The Vice President, Commercial Business Development is a senior customer facing revenue leader responsible for driving profitable growth through the acquisition, development, and expansion of commercial opportunities. This role focuses on identifying and securing new business, developing strategic customer relationships, developing, and managing channel partnerships, and creating customized commercial solutions for both recurring revenue programs and large-scale opportunities.
The VP serves as a trusted advisor to commercial clients, channel partners, facilities leaders, project managers, and executive decision-makers. The position owns the business development process from prospect identification through contract execution and serves as the executive relationship lead for assigned strategic accounts.
Success in this role requires exceptional business development skills, executive presence, consultative selling capabilities, and the ability to coordinate cross functional resources to deliver client-driven solutions that drive long-term revenue growth.
Functions & Responsibilities
Revenue Growth Leadership:
Identify, target, and develop new commercial offerings opportunities focused on recurring revenue programs and large-scale projects.
Build and maintain a robust pipeline of qualified opportunities focused on recurring revenue programs and large-scale projects.
Develop and execute account penetration strategies to secure new clients and expand market share
Lead all phases of the sales process, including prospecting, discover, solution development, proposal presentation, negotiation, and contract execution
Consistently achieve revenue, margin, and new business acquisition goals.
Establish and maintain trusted relationships with c-suite executives, corporate real estate leaders, facilities managers, procurement professionals, other key decision-makers, and influencers
Maintain accurate opportunity forecasting and pipeline management through CRM platforms.
Serve as a commercial lead for significant pursuits, enterprise, opportunities, and strategically important customer engagements.
Develop and manage channel partner relationships that generate opportunities Establish strategic referral partnerships with commercial real estate firms, project management organizations, workplace consultants, furniture dealers, and related service providers.
Evaluate opportunities for strategic fit, operational feasibility, profitability, and long-term customer value.
Prioritize pursuit efforts based on revenue potential, margin contribution, customer alignment, and probability of success Provide market intelligence regarding customer trends, competitive activity, industry developments, and emerging opportunities.
Participate in industry associations, conferences, and networking events to strengthen market visibility and generate new business opportunities.
Support leadership with insights that contribute to commercial growth initiatives and market positioning.
Account Expansion & Strategic Account Management:
Maintain executive-level relationships with secured and assigned clients following implementation.
Identify opportunities to expand services, increase wallet share, and generate additional recurring revenue or large-scale project opportunities.
Develop account growth strategies for strategic customers.
Monitor customer satisfaction and proactively identify emerging business needs.
Support customer retention through continued engagement and relationship development.
Understand customer’s business objectives, growth initiatives, workplace strategies, and operational challenges to identify opportunities for partnership.
Conduct business reviews (internal and external) and strategic planning discussions with key accounts.
Represent Sirva as a professional and trusted partner throughout the customer lifecycle.
Provide customer and market insights that support service innovation, operational enhancements, and commercial growth initiatives.
Enterprise Solution Development, Business Transition, and Implementation:
Lead customer discovery efforts to understand project requirements, business driers, risks, and success criteria.
Collaborate with operations, project management, pricing, finance, and subject matter experts to develop customized commercial moving solutions.
Prepare and deliver executive-level presentations, proposals, and business cases that clearly communicate value and differentiation.
Lead commercial negotiations and contractual discussion to successful outcomes.
Coordinate internal stakeholders to support complex pursuits and solution development efforts.
Lead the transition of sold opportunities from business development to operational execution.
Coordinate structured handoff meetings with operations, project management, pricing, and leadership teams to ensure alignment on customer expectations, scope, contractual commitments, and project objectives.
Serve as the executive sponsor during implementation and project startup activities.
Maintain customer engagement through transition and launch phases to ensure positive client experience.
Support resolution of implementation issues, escalations, and commercial matters as needed.
Ensure all customer requirements, success criteria, and business objectives are clearly communicated to operation teams.
Facilitate post-implementation reviews to identify lessons learned, customer feedback and future growth opportunities.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related field preferred.
Equivalent combination of education and relevant business development experience will be considered.
Minimum 10 years of progressive business development, strategic sales, account management, or commercial services experience.
Proven record of generating new business and achieving significant revenue growth.
Experience selling complex service solutions to corporate clients and executive stakeholders.
Demonstrated success developing long-term customer relationships that produce recurring revenue.
Experience leading large, complex sales pursuits involving multiple stakeholders and decision-makers.
Commercial moving, workplace relocation, facilities services, logistics, project management, or related industry experience strongly preferred.
Exceptional prospecting, business development, and relationship-building skills.
Strong executive presence and ability to engage senior-level decision-makers.
Advanced consultative selling, negotiations, and presentation skills.
Ability to identify customer needs and develop tailored business solutions.
Strong commercial and financial acumen.
Skilled ant managing complex opportunities from discovery through implementation.
Ability to influence and coordinate cross-functional teams without direct authority.
Strong organizational, planning, and pipeline management skills.
Proficiency with CRM systems and sales performance tools.
Ability to travel as required to support customer development, networking, and business growth initiatives.

Position Title: VP, Commercial Business Development
Salary Range: $120,00-$150,000 USD
