VP, Full Stack Engineer

We are seeking a VP-level Full Stack Engineer to join a global financial technology team building and modernising a business-critical front office platform.

The role sits close to trading and front-office stakeholders and combines hands-on software engineering with financial markets domain knowledge. You will design and deliver resilient, scalable solutions across the full technology stack while helping modernise established platforms into cloud-native, service-oriented architectures.

• Partner with business, trading, and operations teams to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• Build and maintain end-to-end applications across backend services, user interfaces, and data layers.
• Drive platform modernisation by transforming legacy functionality into modular, container-ready services.
• Develop system integrations across internal platforms, external services, and downstream/upstream systems.
• Champion engineering standards including CI/CD, automated testing, code reviews, observability, and secure development.
• Troubleshoot complex production incidents, perform root-cause analysis, and implement both immediate and long-term solutions.
• Contribute to technical architecture, scalability, performance, and platform evolution.
• Strengthen production reliability through monitoring, alerting, data quality, capacity management, and operational controls.
• Deliver solutions that balance business requirements, security, performance, resilience, and maintainability.
• Identify opportunities to improve development efficiency, system scalability, and operational processes.

• Strong understanding of financial markets and front-office trading environments
• Hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, Angular, TypeScript, HTML/CSS, and SQL.
• Familiar with securities financing and stock lending workflows, including trade booking, recalls, returns, collateral, lifecycle processing, and settlements.
• Experienced in cloud-native development, containerisation, Linux, Git, CI/CD, and modern engineering practices.
• Strong foundation in software architecture, object-oriented design, refactoring, and maintainable code development.
• Experienced with Agile/Scrum, automated testing, and test-driven development.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting capabilities, with experience resolving complex production and technical issues.
• Effective communicator who can translate business requirements into practical technical solutions.
• Comfortable operating in fast-paced, high-pressure environments while working with senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
• Provide technical leadership and shape platform modernisation strategy.
• Serve as a technical SME, guiding architecture and engineering decisions.
• Lead complex, cross-functional initiatives across teams and systems.
• Mentor engineers and promote technical excellence and knowledge sharing.
• Partner with senior stakeholders on technology, risk, and business decisions.
