VP of Engineering Trade
You will lead the Trade engineering organization, own its technical vision and roadmap, scale a multi-team engineering function, oversee trading-system reliability and risk, partner with executives and control functions, and remain engaged in system design and code-level decisions.
Responsibilities
- Own the technical vision, architecture, and roadmap for the Trade organization
- Align Trade technology with company strategy and other organizational roadmaps
- Build, lead, and scale a multi-team engineering organization
- Own trading-system reliability, performance, and risk
- Set organization-wide technical standards and priorities
- Represent engineering to leadership, partners, and clients
- Recruit, coach, and develop engineering managers and senior technical talent
- Partner with Compliance, Risk, and Legal on regulatory requirements
- Make build-versus-buy, technical debt, and architecture trade-off decisions
- Engage in system design and code-level decisions
Requirements
- 15+ years of software design and development experience
- Deep hands-on backend and distributed systems experience
- 8+ years of engineering leadership experience
- Experience managing managers and senior, principal, or staff engineers
- Experience scaling engineering organizations of 30+ engineers
- Experience in fintech, trading, exchange, or crypto companies
- VP, Director, or Head of Engineering experience owning technical strategy and roadmap
- Cloud computing experience, preferably AWS
- BS or MS in Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent experience
- Knowledge of market structure, order types, and trade lifecycle
- Knowledge of electronic trading risks
- 10+ years developing, deploying, and maintaining high-performance low-latency trading systems
- FIX Protocol 4.2 or higher experience
- C++, Rust, or Go expertise
- Experience achieving single-digit microsecond latency
- Trade booking, accounting or ledger, and credit or risk limit systems experience
- Distributed systems and messaging framework experience
- Strong executive communication and cross-functional partnership skills
