Raymond West is looking for a strategic the Vice President of Sales to lead our sales team! The Vice President of Sales is responsible for leading the company’s sales strategy, performance, and profitability, ensuring achievement of revenue and growth objectives. Reporting to the Chief Sales Officer, this role oversees sales, engineering, and support teams; establishes sales goals, territories, and budgets; and drives marketing and inventory strategies.

The VP of Sales builds and develops sales leadership, monitors performance, and implements corrective actions to improve results. This position also supports key customer relationships, resolves complex issues, ensures compliance with company and regulatory standards, and leads initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Primary duties and responsibilities will vary with the specific position. Typical responsibilities are listed below. This list is not inclusive.

  • Responsible for achievement of corporate sales volume, profit and growth subject to overall direction of the President.
  • Responsible for overall direction, coordination, evaluation and profitability of the Sales Team
  • Responsible for developing and implementing training programs for all sales and engineering personnel, as required.
  • Plan, direct and evaluate the operational, financial and personnel activities of assigned staff and functions
  • Develop, implement, and administer Sales goals, operating policies, and procedures.
  • Hire or approve of all personnel under Sales Directors’ direct or indirect supervision.
  • Prepare annual operating budget recommendations; develop, implement, and monitor assigned budgets
  • Recommend, hire, orient, train and evaluate Sales leadership
  • Monitor and coordinate staff development and training programs
  • Assume major management responsibility for a wide range of project/tasks associated with primary business operations
  • Ensure that all programs’ activities and services comply with Company, state, and federal regulations.
  • Oversee communications and promotions for Sales Leadership
  • Develop and implement department processes to improve efficiency, accuracy, and communications to internal and external customers.
  • Render decisions with respect to key department issues impacting overall service and performance.
  • Create headcount reports for Sales Leadership so Executive Leadership can view.
  • Determine sales territories for all sales personnel.
  • Hold meetings with all sales personnel and appropriate supervisors on a regular basis.
  • Lead Company or Department projects

  • Must be able to manage time efficiently
  • Maintain a high standard of business ethics among all direct and indirect reports.
  • Establish gross income and profit goals for the fiscal year.
  • Responsible for establishing levels of equipment inventory.
  • Maintain a marketing program that promotes sales, rental, service and parts activity
  • Evaluate new product lines for possible representation by Raymond West
  • Evaluate sales efforts and results, taking corrective action when necessary.
  • Support sales personnel in-house and by making joint sales visits.
  • Resolve customer complaints where a solution cannot be achieved between a customer and a sales representative.
  • Coordinate factory sales contests
  • Maintain a current price schedule and literature for all primary suppliers.
  • Resolve disputes relating to commission splits.
  • Responsible for reporting data as requested by The Raymond Corporation or other vendors.
  • Perform other duties and assume other responsibilities as assigned or delegated as required.

Education/Experience:

Minimum Education and Experience: Determined by position

Recommended preferred experience or equivalent or combination of education and experience.

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 5 years’ sales experience
  • 7- 10 years in management capacity; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Travel Requirement:

  • Travel as needed to other dealerships, branches and vendors for research or to attend educational seminars, conferences; conventions and other events as required.
  • Must be able to be insured by Raymond West.

Pay Range:

  • The salary range for this position is $150,000–$350,000, which includes a combination of base salary, bonus, and commissions. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, including but not limited to the candidate’s relevant experience, education, and work location.

Qualified candidates must be able to pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen.
