Warehouse Supervisor
SUMMARY
A brief description of the primary purpose of this job.
Supervises activities to facilitate the most efficient and economical use of space for storing and distributing raw material. Coordinates the receiving, storing, and moving raw materials and finished goods.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Primary/major job responsibilities that will be performed by this job.
- Coordinates the day-to-day activities to ensure that goods are moved, handled, stored safely, and correctly and in accordance with established schedules and inventory lists.
- Interpret stock orders, requests, shipping and receiving tickets, and schedules the movement of materials accordingly. Enters data into a database or other computerized system to maintain up-to-date stock records; retrieves stored information; or responds to enquiries on inventory levels or delivery schedules.
- Ensures that that there is sufficient inventory to meet the organization's production assembly needs. Works with purchasing to ensure that the appropriate parts and materials are received in a timely manner. Escalates missing and/or wrong materials to purchasing and production control for potentially adjustments to the production schedule.
- Prioritize and assigns tasks to ensure that the team's resources are used effectively and that work schedules and targets are met.
- Reviews data on order volume, production schedules and forecasts to estimate future materials requirements
- Continuously monitors the use of equipment (forklifts, pallets jacked and conveyors) to ensure that safety standards are upheld.
- Trains new workers in the organization's operating procedures and standards.
- Prepares documentation and maintains files/records as required. May operate material handling equipment as necessary.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
The minimum education and experience required to successfully perform the essential functions. Preferred requirements can also be included in this section.
High school diploma or GED and five years of warehousing/shipping/receiving experience including a minimum of one year of supervisory/leadership experience. Prior experience in a manufacturing environment dealing with high volumes of materials/finish goods of various sizes. Bachelor degree preferred.

PHYSCIAL REQUIREMENTS
Manufacturing:
- Works predominantly on the manufacturing floor. May be exposed to heat, electrical and mechanical hazards, noise, solvents, dust, dirt, fumes, contaminants, cold, noise, vibration, etc.
- Climbing, stooping, kneeling, lifting, pulling, pushing and ability to move material weighing up to 40 lbs
- Ability to perform basic preventive maintenance tasks on tools and equipment
- Ability to use of hand tools, power tools, gas torches and measuring instruments
- Ability to read blueprints, technical manuals and use measuring equipment
- Requires standing for prolonged periods of time
- Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
- Must be able to walk and use hands
- Ability to read, write, listen and speak
Non-Manufacturing:
- Typically work is in an office environment where the noise level is low to moderate
- Requires standing and/or sitting for prolonged periods of time
