Wirtgen Sales Manager

Position Summary:

This position is responsible for the profitable sale and service of whole- goods merchandise in an assigned area and/or by account. These responsibilities include retaining and growing sales with current customers and developing new customers. Success will be measured by profitability, market share and awareness.

Duties:

1. Organize and maintain customer call schedules, including call frequency.
2. Prospect new accounts and grow established accounts.
3. Maintain list of active deals with follow-up dates and action plans and keep Sales Manager advised.
4. Provide quotes for purchases.
5. Perform machine appraisals on trade-ins and machines company may have an interest in purchasing for inventory.
6. Assist in the collection of monies due on sales, as needed.
7. Maintain and improve product knowledge.

Physical Requirements:

1. Able to move for up to 8 hours/day over agricultural sites
2. Able to operate a motor vehicle day or night.
3. Able to demonstrate equipment safety practices.
4. Able to maneuver over and under equipment.

Working Conditions:

1. Works indoors and outdoors.
2. Hazards from electrical, mechanical and power equipment.
3. Extremes of weather.

Qualifications:

1. High school diploma or equivalent—college preferred
2. Valid driver’s license and insurable driving record.
3. Self-motivated.
4. Basic computer skills.
5. Strong analytical and math skills.
6. Strong communication skills.
7. Minimum five years agricultural or heavy equipment sales or industry related experience.
8. Professional appearance and positive demeanor.
