Workday HCM Analyst / Consultant
Summary
Configure, enhance, and maintain Workday HCM modules for clients, translating HR business needs into system changes and ensuring smooth deployment.
Job Description:
- Support the ongoing configuration, enhancement, and maintenance of Workday Human Capital Management modules.
- Work closely with client stakeholders to assess business requests, configure system changes, and ensure smooth, well-tested delivery into production.
- Assess and analyze incoming business requests against current Workday HCM configuration (e.g. Core HR, Recruiting, Talent, Compensation, Absence, or related modules as assigned).
- Translate business requirements into functional design specifications and configuration changes.
- Manage requests through the full lifecycle — intake, impact assessment, prioritization, build, testing, and deployment.
- Conduct unit testing, system integration testing (SIT), and support user acceptance testing (UAT) for configuration changes.
- Prepare functional documentation, configuration workbooks, and test scripts.
- Engage with business stakeholders to clarify requirements and manage expectations on timelines and impact.
- Track and report on request status and resolution progress.
Requirements:
- Hands-on experience configuring Workday HCM (Core HR at minimum; additional modules a plus).
- Strong understanding of HR business processes (hire-to-retire lifecycle, org management, compensation, absence, etc.).
- Experience working with business process configuration, security groups, and calculated fields.
- Ability to write clear functional specifications and test scripts.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Experience working in large, complex environments preferred.
Good to Have:
- Workday HCM certification(s).
- Experience with Workday Reporting.
- Exposure to governance and prioritization processes in a large program environment.
