Workshop superintendent (refinery site)

KBR is looking for a workshop superintendent - maintenance head to guarantee that daily refinery maintenance activities, including corrective, preventive, and predictive maintenance for various equipment, are carried out in compliance with safety, environment, and quality rules to assure sector availability, reliability, and operation continuity.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and lead overall department functions, provide direction to employees, conduct evaluations, coordinate activities, and ensure project tasks are completed within set timelines in accordance with the organization's policies.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of goals, objectives, policies, procedures, and priorities.
  • Prepare, optimize, and track preventive maintenance schedules of equipment to minimize breakdowns with effective monitoring and scheduling maintenance programs to ensure operational availability of equipment.
  • Manage day-to-day activities of the welding and fabrication shop, scaffolding and insulation workshop, and heavy lift and rigging division. Manage planned or unplanned equipment repairs.
  • Manage resources, equipment, and machinery to the site for routine and emergency situations.
  • Review work plans and job request priorities to allocate resources, monitor workflow, methods of statement, and procedures; meet and discuss with the team to identify gaps and resolve problems.
  • Review weekly plans and provide feedback to the planning team to achieve schedule compliance.
  • Coordinate with internal departments, external workshops, and OEM dealers for repairs, parts, and any issues.
  • Manage and lead to ensure all equipment and workshop facilities are maintained and meet HSE standards.
  • Conduct regular safety audits to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
  • Manage, recommend, and schedule employees’ safety and technical trainings.
  • Manage and review daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance performance reports, timesheets, KPIs, etc.
  • Respond promptly in case of emergency. Ensure reporting of any incident, accident, or violation that occurs.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in engineering or related field.
  • Previous experience as a maintenance engineer in a refining environment or equivalent.
  • 12+ years of refinery plant experience.
  • Good knowledge of fabrication shop equipment.
  • Experience piloting maintenance contracts.
  • Strong understanding of safety rules.
  • Proven ability to resolve problems as a leader within large organizations.
  • Well organized, proactive, with strong communication skills.
  • Maturity of judgment under pressure.
  • Strategic mindset open to new ideas.
  • Demonstrated capacity to achieve positive results while working in a multi-cultural environment.
  • All other duties as assigned.
