WSH Coordinator

Summary

Coordinates workplace safety and health initiatives on construction sites, ensuring compliance with regulations and promoting safety culture through inspections, documentation, and training.

We are looking for a committed and proactive Workplace Safety & Health (WSH) Coordinator to support the implementation of workplace safety and health initiatives across our construction projects. The successful candidate will assist in ensuring compliance with WSH regulations and promote a strong safety culture on-site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in implementing and monitoring Workplace Safety & Health (WSH) policies and procedures on site.
  • Conduct daily site safety inspections and identify unsafe acts or conditions.
  • Support the preparation and review of Risk Assessments (RA), Safe Work Procedures (SWP), and Permit-to-Work (PTW) documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with the Workplace Safety and Health Act, MOM regulations, and company safety policies.
  • Conduct toolbox meetings, safety briefings, and orientation for workers and subcontractors.
  • Monitor corrective actions and follow up on safety observations, incidents, and near misses.
  • Maintain WSH records, inspection reports, training records, and statutory documentation.
  • Liaise with project teams, subcontractors, and relevant authorities on safety matters.
  • Assist the WSH Officer/Manager in safety audits, inspections, and accident investigations.

Job Requirements

  • Diploma/NITEC in Engineering, Workplace Safety & Health, or a related discipline.
  • Possess a valid Workplace Safety & Health Coordinator (WSHC) Certificate recognised by MOM.
  • Minimum 2–3 years of relevant experience in the construction industry.
  • Familiar with the Workplace Safety and Health Act, WSH Regulations, and Code of Practice.
  • Good knowledge of Risk Assessment (RA), Safe Work Procedures (SWP), and Permit-to-Work (PTW) systems.
  • Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively with project teams.

Added Advantage:

  • Experience with A1 Main Contractors.
  • Experience in residential, A&A, or redevelopment projects.
  • Knowledge of ISO 45001 Occupational Health & Safety Management System.
