Zero-to-One Growth Intern - Mental Health, Behaviorial Psychology, UX

Compensation: No equity

Hi, 你好, I’m Yongsen, founder & solo product architect of a startup (stealth-named Matsu) set to globally disrupt and redefine our concepts of consumer social and mental health tech.

I’m a technical founder from Taiwan. I majored in psychology, but since then I've worked across B2C software teams from 10 to 1000 people solving problems across product, business, and finance. I got sick of B2C and wanted to return to psychology because of its impact, but wanted to remain in tech because of its reach. And I have long felt that mental health has gotten overcommodified and overcomplicated. So a couple months back, I quit my 9-5 to make Matsu.

Matsu is an anti-performative social sandbox experiment that has already crossed 400 users in Taiwan with 7.85 CSAT. The mechanism—improving mental health on the simple, singular basis of shared humanity—works. Our next step is to go stateside.

I’m looking for 1—or, if I receive a number of extraordinarily talented applicants, at max 3—summer interns who are willing to throw themselves into the abyss.

You may have to be slightly unwise to take this job. I’m bootstrapping. It’s unpaid. And it’s going to be hard. Maybe you’ll become so obsessed and make yourself so indispensable you’ll end up as a co-founder; no pressure though.

(Ok, maybe that was a bit extreme. Don’t worry. I play badminton every day and prioritize my own mental health and would want you to too. We need to walk the walk to talk the talk.)
