Summary

Venon Solutions (LATAM-only, 100% remote) seeks a Tech UI Designer to bridge UI design and engineering, turning Figma designs into functional, performant interfaces in Unreal Engine using UMG, Widget Blueprints, and Blueprint scripting. Long-term independent-contractor role, full-time EST hours, paid in USD.

Job Opportunity only available for professionals located in Latin America.

We are looking for a UI Tech Designer to bridge the gap between UI design and engineering, transforming Figma designs and established UI systems into functional, scalable, and performant interfaces within Unreal Engine.

In this role, you'll work closely with UX, UI Art, and Engineering to implement UI features, build reusable component systems, and ensure interfaces work reliably across different platforms, screen sizes, localization requirements, and accessibility needs.

The ideal candidate combines a strong understanding of UI design with hands-on technical experience in Unreal Engine, UMG, Widget Blueprints, and Blueprint scripting, and is comfortable breaking down designs into clear technical tasks while identifying dependencies and potential challenges early.

This role is particularly suited to someone who enjoys working at the intersection of design, technology, and game development, and who wants to have a direct impact on both the quality of the UI and the workflows used to build it.

Key responsibilities:

  • Translate Figma designs, wireframes, and UI specifications into functional UI experiences within Unreal Engine.
  • Break features and designs into clear, scoped implementation tasks, identifying unknowns, dependencies, and technical risks early.
  • Use the Unreal Editor to build and maintain UI using UMG and Widget Blueprints.
  • Create UI logic and interactions using Blueprint scripting.
  • Build robust, reusable, and flexible UI components that can evolve as designs and product requirements change.
  • Implement data-driven UI using ViewModels and view bindings, collaborating closely with UI Engineering.
  • Work with established UI libraries and design system components, ensuring consistent implementation across the product.
  • Build UI experiences that account for different screen sizes, safe areas, localization, and accessibility requirements.
  • Consider and maintain performance and memory budgets, profiling the cost of UMG, Slate, C++, textures, and other UI-related systems.
  • Collaborate closely with UX, UI Art, and Engineering to turn designs into polished, functional experiences.
  • Help improve UI workflows, pipelines, documentation, and implementation processes.
  • Provide constructive feedback on designs and technical approaches while remaining receptive to feedback from cross-functional partners.
  • Troubleshoot and iterate on UI implementations throughout development.

Requirements:

  • Advanced English level (B2/C1/C2) to ensure fluent communication across teams.
  • 3-5 years of hands-on experience as a UI Tech Designer, Technical UI Designer, UI Designer, Technical Designer, or similar role in game development or interactive experiences.
  • Hands-on experience with Unreal Engine and the Unreal Editor.
  • Strong experience with UMG and Widget Blueprints.
  • Experience using Blueprints to implement UI logic, interactions, and behaviors.
  • Experience translating UI designs from Figma or similar design tools into production-ready implementations.
  • Understanding of reusable UI components, design systems, and scalable UI architecture.
  • Familiarity with ViewModels, data binding, or data-driven UI architectures.
  • Understanding of UI performance considerations, including UMG, Slate, C++, and texture memory.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with UX, UI Art, Engineering, and other disciplines.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work through ambiguity and changing requirements.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience working on AAA games or large-scale game development projects.
  • Experience with UI animation and interactive UI experiences.
  • Familiarity with Slate and C++ in the context of UI development.
  • Experience with localization and accessibility implementation.
  • Experience optimizing UI for multiple resolutions, platforms, and hardware configurations.
  • Experience working with established design systems or component libraries.
  • Experience improving UI pipelines, tooling, documentation, or team workflows.

Project & Design Environment:

  • Designs: UI designs and specifications will be provided primarily through Figma.
  • UI Art Direction: An established UI art direction is already in place, while remaining flexible enough to evolve as the project develops.
  • Animation: UI animation and animation handling will primarily be managed by the customer's internal resources.
  • Design System: The team will work with an existing UI design system and component library, leveraging established library assets.
  • Collaboration: The Tech UI Designer will work as the implementation bridge between UX/UI Design and Engineering, ensuring designs are translated effectively into Unreal Engine.

What do we offer?

  • Competitive salary in USD.
  • 100% Remote Work.
  • Type of contract: Independent Contractor with Venon Solutions LLC.
  • Contract duration: long-term
  • Benefits: 2 weeks of PTO (paid time off).
  • Holidays: from the North American calendar.
  • Working hours: Full-time EST, fully committed.
