Assistant Project Manager
Summary
Assists in managing construction and engineering projects, coordinating schedules, documentation, and site activities to ensure timely, safe, and budget-compliant delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Project Manager in planning, coordinating, and executing construction and engineering projects to ensure they are completed safely, on time, within budget, and in accordance with project specifications.
- Coordinate project schedules, monitor progress, and ensure daily site activities are aligned with the overall project plan.
- Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal engineering teams to facilitate project execution and resolve project-related issues.
- Prepare, review, and maintain project documentation, including progress reports, Requests for Information (RFIs), change orders, meeting minutes, method statements, and compliance records.
- Monitor procurement activities and track the delivery of materials and equipment to ensure timely site availability.
- Assist in cost control by monitoring project expenditures, verifying subcontractor claims and invoices, and supporting budget management.
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, quality standards, workplace safety regulations, and statutory requirements.
- Attend site meetings, coordinate inspections, and support project handover and close-out activities.
- Identify project risks and assist in implementing corrective and preventive actions.
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in construction or engineering project management.
- Experience in ultra-high-purity (UHP) and chemical system installation projects will be an advantage.
- Good understanding of construction methodologies, project coordination, and contract administration.
- Proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to work on-site as required.
