Summary

Oversees student services at a university, ensuring equal access and inclusion through policy development, staff supervision, and compliance with laws, with a focus on strategic planning and budget management.

JOB SUMMARY:

Plans and directs one or more major programmatic areas in student services at an institution of higher education.

JOB DUTIES:

30% - Leadership:
Assists the Director with the development of policies and procedures aligned with the department's mission and vision. Provides leadership, supervises staff and manages office. Attends committee meetings and serves on search committees and advisory boards as requested. Coordinates hiring, onboarding, and supervision of new employees.

10% - Representation and Participation:
Represents the SAS office at campus trainings, educational outreach, and events such as Orientations, Graduation services and information fairs. Serves on university search committees, task forces, projects and strategic planning. Leads the office in special initiatives, including planning and implementation of awareness programming designed to promote an atmosphere of inclusion on campus.

10% - Federal/State Laws, Mandates and Trends:
Stays abreast of Federal and State laws regarding equal access as well as trends in inclusion in higher education. Participates in timely professional development and contributes to the development of innovative and creative practices to meet mandates for equal access. Actively participates in national and state professional organizations.

50% - Facilitates Student Access:
Manages, monitors and evaluates daily functioning of office staff to deliver comprehensive student services that ensure equal access to campus environments and participation. Develops policies and procedures in conjunction with the Executive Director and institutional administrators. Manages budgetary needs for accommodations and staff professional development. Advises on long-range strategic goals and outcomes for compliance and best practice.

\Minimum Requirements:

A bachelor's degree and experience in student services programs.

This position is in Student Accessibility Services.

Expected salary range for this position is $67,000 - $75,000.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Comprehensive knowledge of theories, concepts and practices and ability to use in complex, difficult and/or unprecedented situations.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Supervises work of others and may offer recommendations for hiring, termination and pay adjustments but does not have responsibility for making these decisions.

BUDGETARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Fiscal Responsibilities: Fiscal responsibilities for the department's budget, including but not limited to, financial planning and managing fund allocation

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

COMPENSATION INFORMATION:

Expected Salary Range

$52,100.00 - $70,300.00

Salary is dependent upon several factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's previous experience, knowledge, skills and performance in accordance with Clemson's compensation guidelines.

ESSENTIAL PERSONNEL LEVEL:

Essential Support - In the event of an emergency closure or modified operations, this position is necessary to maintain/resume essential support functions, deliver direct care services, and/or provide recovery support before normal operations resume. Some positions in this category may be required to work remotely or be on-call.
