Automation & DevOps Engineer

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and optimise existing requirements management practices.
  • Establish, maintain and improve requirements, design and verification baselines.
  • Ensure alignment with industry standards and certification requirements.
  • Design, implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins.
  • Develop and support Agile, Scrum and DevOps environments.
  • Configure and maintain Jira-based problem management and issue-tracking systems.
  • Support infrastructure deployments and integrations across multiple development environments.
  • Administer and maintain authentication services, including LDAP environments.
  • Manage software build environments and maintain system images.
  • Develop, maintain and optimise automation scripts.
  • Create dashboards and generate reports to support engineering activities.
  • Support the migration and maintenance of legacy systems and tools.
  • Assist with cybersecurity initiatives and compliance requirements.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure best practices are followed.

Minimum Requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
  • Honours or Master's degree will be advantageous.

Technical Knowledge and Experience

  • Proven experience in requirements management, traceability and validation throughout the software development life cycle.
  • Experience within Agile, Scrum and DevOps environments.
  • Strong understanding of software development methodologies and engineering processes.
  • Experience with formal requirements management tools.
  • Knowledge of industry standards such as RTCA DO-178, RTCA DO-254, ARP4754A and EN9100.
  • Experience with Jira, Bitbucket, Jenkins and Artifactory.
  • Strong SQL and MySQL database knowledge.
  • Experience with scripting languages, including Python, Bash and PowerShell.
  • Exposure to containerised environments, including Docker, Podman and Kubernetes, would be advantageous.
  • Knowledge of Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) methodologies would be beneficial.
  • Previous experience within a complex product development environment is highly desirable.
